Sixty years ago Martin Luther King jr. gave his famous I Have A Dream speech and many people marched down Washington. On Saturday August 26, many people gathered in the same spot to commemorate that day. “If I could speak to my grandfather today, I would say I’m sorry we still have to be here to rededicate ourselves to finishing your work and ultimately realizing your dream,” she said. “Today, racism is still with us. Poverty is still with us. And now, gun violence has come for places of worship, our schools and our shopping centers.” This made me think about how after all these years people are still struggling in this society and how they are being treated unfairly and unequal.
